COMPANY CGG TO CARRY OUT SEISMOLOGICAL SURVEY ON THE CASPIAN

The French Company Compagnie Generale de Geophysique (CGG) in the second quarter of the current year will carry out a three-dimensional seismological survey in Aktoty and Kairan areas in the Kazakhstan sector of the Caspian Sea, where an international consortium Agip KCO conducts exploration drilling, CGG official report says. Only a bi-dimensional seismological survey has been carried out there until present time.

CGG is one of the world leading geophysical companies, providing geophysical research services with the usage of onshore, offshore, and air services. It supplies software for seismic and geophysical equipment (Sercel-Opseis-Mertz) for processing, interpretation, and management of data.

Currently Agip KCO conducts exploration works at 6 of 11 offshore blocks as per the North Caspian project - East, West, South West Kashagan, Kalamkas, Aktoty and Kairan.
