CONSTRUCTION OF BAKU-TBILISI-KARS RAILWAY UNDERWAY IN TURKEY

Ankara, July 26 (AZERTAC). Construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, which will link Europe and Turkey as well as Caucasus and Asia (except for Armenia), is going on, said Turkish Transport Minister Binali Yildirim.

He added realization of the Marmaray project, which will link up to Baku-Tbilisi-Kars and connect London and Shanghai, was delayed four years because archeological find in Istanbul. Construction of this line, which will run under the Bosphorus strait, is to start no earlier than in 2013.
