COOPERATION BETWEEN MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS OF AZERBAIJAN AND AUSTRIA EXTENDS
Warmly greeting the guests, the Minister has noted, that important work is being done in the field of expansion of relations with Austria, has reminded of the Memorandum concerning the bilateral cooperation, signed during the meeting with Minister of Internal Affairs of the friendly country Ernest Schtasser in 2000, and has stated that after that the relations between structures on combat against organized crime and other departments have been established, and the connections steadily develop.
General - colonel Ramil Usubov has presented supervising persons of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, has informed about criminal situation in the Republic, spoke of the aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan and its heavy consequences. The Minister has especially emphasized, that after returning of our national leader Heydar Aliyev to authority, political stability has been established in the country. Now Azerbaijan holds among the CIS countries one of last places, in positive sense of this word, in number of crimes on every one of 100 thousand people.
Having thanked for the shown hospitality, the visitor has conveyed greetings of minister Ernest Schtasser, has expressed satisfaction in connection with expansion of connections, and has presented members of delegation.
The chief of Central Administrative Board of police of the city of Vienna Peter Schtidl has informed about criminal situation in the capital of Austria, combat against criminality, highly has estimated democratic processes proceeding in Azerbaijan.
At the meeting in which the ambassador of Austria to our country Ms. Haidemaria Gurer took part, the parties had exchange of views concerning illegal circulation of narcotics, trade in people, illegal migration, combat against terrorism and other questions.

PROTOCOL SIGNED
Upon termination of the meeting, has been signed the “Protocol concerning cooperation in the field of training and improvement of professional skill of employees of police” between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Azerbaijan Republic and the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Austrian Republic.
