DEFENSE MINISTER MET OSCE ACTING CHAIRMAN’S SPECIAL ENVOY TO AZERBAIJAN AND ARMENIA
After greeting, Mr. Philip Dimitrov said that I want to convey to you the OSCE Acting Chairman’s concern with delay of resolution of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict. “He deems that settlement of the conflict cannot delay anymore”, the guest stressed.
Colonel-general Safar Abiyev noted that the history of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict is long and complicated. It has been for ten years there was reached ceasefire regime. Though Azerbaijan wishes peace way settlement of the conflict, but Armenia’s destructive positions impedes it.
He said: “The Astana meeting of presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia increased hope for settlement of the conflict. We consider that the aggressor Armenia that ignores four resolutions of the United Nations Security Council related to the problem should be obliged for this. The conflict should be quickly settled in the frame of territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. It is required by security of the large scale economic projects with the participation of the European countries and the United States”.
Then, the sides had comprehensive exchange of views on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorny Karabakh conflict.
Colonel-general Safar Abiyev said: “The Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorny Karabakh conflict should be settled in the frame of international law and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Armenia should pull out its armed forces from the occupied lands. On the contrary, Azerbaijan will liberate its lands by other means.”
The OSCE Acting Chairman’s personal envoy Andzey Kaspshick took part at the meeting.
