DOCUMENTS TO BE SIGNED BETWEEN AZERBAIJAN AND SAUDI ARABIA DISCUSSED
At the meeting, the Ambassador has informed the deputy minister about social, political and economic reforms, being conducted in the Country, carried out the discussions connected to preparation for expected visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Republic Elmar Mammadyarov to the Kingdom. The ambassador informed, that the project “Agreements on encouragement and mutual protection of investments” between our countries is completely ready, has suggested signing the said document during visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom.
Deputy foreign minister Y. Saudun has noted that the draft agreement is being considered by the Council of Ministers of the Kingdom, and has emphasized, that the Azerbaijan side would be informed on the decision accepted by Council in the shortest terms.
Having noted expediency of carrying out at level of experts of negotiations concerning the projects “Agreements on elimination of the double taxation” and “Cooperation agreements in the field of tourism” between our countries, ambassador Elman Arasli has addressed with the request for entering on the part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of offers on both questions. Yusif Saudun promised that the corresponding information would be transferred in the shortest terms concerning projects of the said agreements to the Azerbaijan side.
Further, at the meeting, discussed were questions on forming Joint Council of businessmen of Azerbaijan -Saudi Arabia and immediate first sitting of this structure.
Having touched questions of cooperation in oil sector, ambassador Elman Arasly has presented to Yusif Saudun the project of the Memo concerning cooperation between the Ministry of fuel and energy of the Azerbaijan Republic and the Ministry of oil and mineral resources of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Having noted value of the mentioned Memo, Mr. Y. Saudun promised, that this document would be directed to the Ministry of oil and mineral resources of his country, and opinions and offers concerning the project would be shortly transferred to the Azerbaijan side.
At the meeting, also were focused other issues of mutual interest.
