EU-AZERBAIJAN PARLIAMENTARY COOPERATION COMMITTEE’S 9TH MEETING HELD IN BRUSSELS
Azerbaijani delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev attended the 9th meeting of the European Union-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Cooperation Committee held Friday in Brussels.
The European Union (EU) was represented at the event by Gunnar Wiegand, acting director for Eastern Europe, Southern Caucasus, Central Asian Republics.
The meeting focused on the implementation of the EU-Azerbaijan Action Plan under the European Neighborhood Policy, Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, energy security cooperation, human rights, freedom of speech, elections, mass media, as well as EU support programs.
During the visit the Azerbaijani and EU delegations also discussed the issue regarding Azerbaijan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
