As was stated, at the press conference of the head of representation of the European Commission of Mark Franco taken place on September 9 in Moscow, it was stated that the European Community plans to increase assistance to the Northern Caucasus in connection with events in Beslan. M. Franco has noted, that some members of the European Community now already examine the opportunity of increase in the help to this region.

As he said, the part here to the humanitarian help rendered to EU is already redirected to assist people injured during the act of terrorism in Beslan: these are products and medicines. Together with it, M. Franco has told, now in this region there is a representative of European Commission who on the place estimates the situation, and already in the beginning of the next week will be determined, what concrete help the European Community can give.
