EVENTS ON RELIGIONS TOLERANCE IN AZERBAIJAN HELD IN BERLIN
Konrad Adenauer Foundation and Germany-Azerbaijan Forum held in Berlin a number of events on religions tolerance in Azerbaijan, including the conference for specialist, lecture for the public, and gallery of pictures.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference were Deputy Secretary General of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation A. Sprengler, Azerbaijani ambassador to Germany Parviz Shahbazov, Chairman of the Germany-Azerbaijan Forum Otto Hauser, chairman of the Clerical Office of the Caucasus Muslims Allahshukur Pashazadeh and others.
Shahbazov said Azerbaijan`s foreign policy is unique because it is a member of the CoE and OSCE, closely cooperates with European Union and NATO, and is affiliated with the Organization of the Islamic Conference. Ambassador stressed the Azerbaijani model of peaceful co-existence of religions and tolerance had been formed.
Chairman of the State Committee for Working with Religious Organizations Hidayet Orujev told of the government`s religious policy. According to him, Heydar Aliyev`s policy to ensure peaceful co-existence of religions has been successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev.
