Famous Latvian cello trio to perform “Sari Gelin”

Famous Latvian cello trio Melo-M (http://www.melo-m.lv/lv/) will perform Azerbaijani folk music “Sari Gelin” under the project initiated in cooperation with the CBC Television and the Madaniyyat TV, embassies of Hungary, Latvia, Moldova, Uzbekistan and other countries, the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in Azerbaijan told AZERTAC.
According to the embassy, the project aims to symbolize the solidarity with the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani citizens in the fight against the coronavirus ( COVID-19) pandemic.
In this regard, performance of “Sari Gelin” by Latvian cello trio is a great contribution to the people of Azerbaijan.
Kārlis Auzāns, Miķelis Dobičins and Jānis Pauls formed Melo-M in 2005. Since then they have released five albums.
The source material Melo-M chooses to interpret tends to be quite varied - pop, rock, folk and world, classical and contemporary. They have collaborated with many world-famous artists, have played and gained recognition in many countries.
