FAO to open Partnership and Liaison Office in Azerbaijan

The government of Azerbaijan and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) have signed an agreement on the establishment of the organization`s Partnership and Liaison Office in the country.
The agreement was inked by Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Heydar Asadov and FAO Director General Jose Graziano da Silva in Baku.
The two also signed an agreement launching the FAO-Azerbaijan Partnership Programme.
Speaking to the signing ceremony, they said both of the agreements will lead to strengthened cooperation for the implementation of technical and policy assistance not only in Azerbaijan but also in countries in and beyond the region under FAO’s South-South Cooperation framework.
