The first satellite fully built by Emirati engineers is all set to launch from Japan on October 29, Dubai's Crown Prince has announced. The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre will launch the KhalifaSat from the Tanigashima Space Centre, Khaleej Times newspaper reported.
"Proud of the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, where a team made up entirely of young Emirati engineers has developed the first Emirati satellite," Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, tweeted. "This is an important milestone for our country, an achievement made possible because our leadership supports Emirati youth and encourages them to excel in the fields of innovation and technological development.”
"The UAE Space Agency tweeted that the KhalifaSat would provide high-quality detailed imagery, "catapulting our nation into a new era of space technology," he added.
