GREAT MUSICIAN AND VIOLONCELLIST MSTISLAV ROSTROPOVICH ARRIVES IN BAKU
World-known violoncellist, native of Baku Mstislav Rostropovich arrived in Baku, on January 25 AzerTAJ reports. The great musician is expected to give the concert-requiem in memory of his close friend and great political figure, President Heydar Aliyev. It should be reminded that in Baku, thanks to Heydar Aliyev, in the former apartment of Rostropovichs, where little Slava’s childhood passed the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan opened the house-museum of Leopold and Mstislav Rostropovich. It was father and son Rostropovichs, who founded violoncellists’ school in Baku.
