GURBANGULY BERDYMUHAMMEDOV NAMED BSU HONORARY DOCTOR
Turkmenistan`s President Gurbanguly Berdymuhammedov was given the title of the honorary doctor of the Baku State University on Tuesday.
Opening the ceremony on the occasion, the University’s Rector, MP Abel Maharramov said the Turkmen leader was honored with the title for his outstanding role in strengthening fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, as well as his contribution to developing science.
Gurbanguly Berdymuhammedov expressed his gratitude to the University for awarding him with the title of the honorary doctor.
He spoke of ongoing processes in Turkmenistan, saying boosting socio-economic development is one of the number one priorities in the country`s domestic policy.
Gurbanguly Berdymuhammedov also touched upon his country`s relationships with Azerbaijan, and stressed the talks held and agreements achieved in Baku open up new opportunities for strengthening the interstate dialogue, and mutual trust and understanding.
