HEAD OF AZERBAIJAN`S CONSTITUTIONAL COURT MEETS PRESIDENT OF EUROPEAN HUMAN RIGHTS COURT
Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan Farhad Abdullayev met Friday with President of the European Court of Human Rights Jean-Paul Costa.
Abdullayev said their January meeting in Strasbourg was very important for experience exchange. He thanked Costa for accepting the invitation to visit Azerbaijan.
Abdullayev told of the activity of the Constitutional Court, judiciary reforms, and work to apply European experience here.
Head of the Constitutional Court said Azerbaijan courts incorporate the elements of the European judicial system. He noted European convention is widely used in court rulings, which play an important role in implementing judicial reforms.
Costa stressed the need of cooperation to step up integration of Azerbaijan into the European judicial system. Costa found a need to improve the activity of the natioanl consitutioanl court in order to safeguard human rights.
