IN HONOUR OF THE NATIONAL HOLIDAY OF UZBEKISTAN
National anthems of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan were performed.
The ambassador of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Abdugafur Abdurahmanov in his statement spoke on the ancient history of friendly connections between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, histories of development of relations of two countries after regaining independence. The diplomat has emphasized, that a special role in development of mutual relations had played the head of the states – Heydar Aliyev and Islam Karimov. The documents signed during the state visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Uzbekistan in March this year, gave a new pulse to development of cooperation. Now the connections between our countries in political-economical, trading and other spheres develop on ascending. Uzbekistan is going in 8 times to increase commodity circulation with Azerbaijan and hopes, that Azerbaijan also is interested in it, the Ambassador said.
He has reminded, that Uzbekistan being friendly and brotherly country to Azerbaijan, supports settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict only within the framework of territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
Vice-president of Milli Majlis Ziyafet Askarov, having congratulated participants of ceremony on behalf of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, has wished people of Uzbekistan peace and calmness. Having reminded about historical connections of our peoples, the vice-president of parliament has noted, that Azerbaijan is interested in the further expansion of all-round relations with Uzbekistan. The ties constructed by the national leader of Azerbaijan with the Turkic world, and today develop and become stronger.
Then, masters of the arts performed Azerbaijan and Uzbek songs.
At the ceremony, presenting were MPs, ambassadors of foreign countries in Baku, representatives of the public of capital.
