The II International conference on folklore on the topic “From the common Turkic past to the common Turkic future”, conducted at organizing support of Institute of folklore of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, on March 19, has continued the work in Baku.

Delivered were lectures by Doctor of Philology, professor Ismayil Veliyev on the topic “Interrelation of mythical images of Khidir Ilyas and Osiris”, by Enver Abdullayev on the topic “Display of tragic destiny of the Crimean Tatars in nostalgic songs of XIX century ”, by PhD Burhan Berberov on the topic “Art features of folklore of Karachais and Balkars” and others.

At final session in the report on the topic “The idea of spiritual commonness”, director of Institute of folklore Huseyn Ismayilov told about importance of strengthening of spiritual unity between Turkic peoples. Having emphasized fruitfulness of the discussions carried out at the conference, the orator has regarded this action as a significant step to unity of our peoples, to studying our common past. H e noted that at conference has been heard about 70 reports concerning to folklore of Turkic peoples, these reports have been operatively issued as the book and distributed among the authors.
