INT`L FIELD HOCKEY FEDERATION REPRESENTATIVES HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE IN BAKU
Representatives of the International Field Hockey Federation have today held a press conference concerning Women`s Olympic Qualifying Tournament to be started tomorrow.
Attending the press-conference was Namig Aliyev, Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Field Hockey Federation, who said the preparation level of the Azerbaijani women to be participated in the competition is satisfactory.
According to him, only the team to occupy the first place will get license for Olympic Games.
Tournament Director Carola Meyer said Azerbaijan spared no efforts to organize the competition on a higher level.
Dennis Meredith, Manager of the International Field Hockey Federation expressed his hope that Azerbaijan would successfully host the tournament.
He also expressed his gratitude to the “AtaHolding” Open Joint-Stock Company, one of the 4 sponsors of the International Field Hockey Federation for rendering support for developing field hockey in the world.
Attending the event Ismayil Ismayilov, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports spoke at the event about the activity of the Azerbaijan Field Hockey Federation, as well as Azerbaijani sportsmen’s recent successes.
Teams of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Chile, Spain, Kenya and Ukraine will compete within the framework of the tournament.
Azerbaijani women will tomorrow face with Chile team.
