INT’L ORGANIZATIONS RAISE ATTENTION TO PROTECTION OF AGRICULTURAL PLANTS
Z. Akbarov has also spoke at the regional meeting with a report on protection of genetic resources of diversity of agricultural plants in Azerbaijan, has called on the international centers and heads of funds to raise attention to our country in the mentioned questions.
At the meeting, discussed were the basic directions of regional strategy developed according to the offers made, the question on protection of the basic food plants considered important for the region, and their wild-growing forms, and corresponding decisions accepted.
Participants of both actions have emphasized, that the adopted decisions have great value for regions of the Central Asia and Southern Caucasus, have expressed confidence that significant steps in the near future would be undertaken in the field of protection, gathering and storage of vegetative genetic resources.
At the meeting with heads of the international regional organizations, representatives of the countries of regions, Mr. Akbarov has discussed some questions, representing mutual interest, has reached achievement of corresponding arrangements on the basic directions of cooperation.
At the meeting, also were listened reports of Global Fund on diversity of agricultural plants, of the national coordinators of the countries of region.
