Italian Institute of International Affairs hosts workshop on Azerbaijan
Baku, April 6 (AZERTAC). Italian Institute of International Affairs (IAI) has hosted a workshop on “The Roles of Women in Azerbaijan”.
The event was addressed by the IAI deputy director Natalie Tochchi, and then followed by research fellow at IAI Nona Mikelidse, Head of International Relations and Protocol Department of the State Committee for Women, Children and Family Affairs Sabina Manafova, Doctor of the School of Oriental and African Studies at University of London Farideh Hayat and the Secretary General of the Italian Helsinki Committee for Human Rights Abntonio Stango.
According to the Azerbaijani embassy in Italy, the workshop focused on roles of women in Azerbaijan`s history, reforms being implemented in the fields of protecting human rights of women after gaining the country`s independence, as well as restoring the violated rights of Azerbaijani women refugees and IDPs as a result of Armenian-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The event was attended by the academicians, state and business circles from Italy, the media and representatives of the diplomatic corps in Rome.
