The vice-president who has acted at briefing of the World Bank on region Shigeo Katsu and former vice-president Johannes Lynn have noted that in the states of the former USSR, undergone hard transition period, it is observed economic growth.
At the same time, unemployment and poverty in region remain at a high level. In this sense, to Shigeo Katsu has positively estimated position in Azerbaijan.

The heaviest of them was the war with Armenia. Growth of prices of the energy resources and oil, realization of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan MEP and mainly, the reforms, conducted by the Government last years, has created in Azerbaijan excellent ground for systematic advance. Your Country aspires to continuation and henceforth of the economic growth, enhance agrarian sector, ensure the refugees and IDPs with job. The relevant projects should not be considered only for the period after settlement of the Nagorny Karabakh conflict and return of refugees and IDPs to the native lands. Employment of these people should be ensured and in present conditions.”
