JUBILEE OF AZERBAIJAN COMPOSER TO BE MARKED IN GERMANY
Arif Abdulla oglu Mirzoev was born in Baku. In the native city, he has received music education. He is the graduate of musical school at the Azerbaijan Conservatory, the Baku Musical School after Asef Zeynalli, and then the Azerbaijan State Conservatory after Uzeyir Hajibayov where he was trained at the composer faculty in the class of the great Azerbaijan composer, professor Gara Garayev.
Since 1975, Arif Mirzoev lives in Moscow where creates the best, most mature memorial compositions. Among them – the solo “Organ symphony in memory of I. S. Bach”, Islamic mourning mess “January verses” – in memories of victims of January tragedy in Baku, the “Lullaby to Children of Khojali”, for organ - in memory of victims of the Karabakh genocide, the “Saraband to Princess Diana ” for organ, and, at last, the composition “The New York Passions - 2001 ” - for a chamber orchestra and 2 soloists, devoted to the tragedy on 11 September in the USA.
But nevertheless, the world recognition to Arif Mirzoev as to the composer has come after creation by him in 1984 year the well-known “Organ symphonies in memory of I. S. Bach”. Composed especially to the 300-anniversary of the ingenious German composer in the form of “ornamental –mugham, choral and polyphonic variations”, the symphony for last 20 years has sustained record quantity of premieres in the different countries of the world. In connection with repeated performance, the symphony was twice nominated for the State Prize of Russia for 2000 and 2002.
Last year, Arif Mirzoev lives and works in Germany, on the land of Hessen, in the ancient city of Fulde, that to the north of Frankfurt. He has arrived to this country for perfection of his organ skill. Though, as experts speak, the Azerbaijan composer perfectly owns art spontaneous organ improvisations; without this quality, it is difficult to become the church organist.
Arif Mirzoev will carry out his first jubilee concert in Berlin and will devote to Azerbaijan music. Under the arrangement of the ambassador of the Azerbaijan Republic in Germany, the composer will perform at the big concert hall, while as the pianist - improvisator. The program includes works of Uzeyir Hajibayov, Gara Garayev, Fikrat Amirov, Tofig Guliyev, and also the best samples of the American jazz and popular music of world cinema. Then, the composer will act with solo organ concerts in the largest churches of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland and France.
It is necessary to tell that composer Arif Mirzoev is recognized in the countries of the West as the composer-polyphonist, the founder Azerbaijan religious - memorial, organ and polyphonic music, and also sacrificial music of an ancient Islam.
In Germany, the composer was accepted as a member of many honorary members of the "New international musical society after I. S. Bach”.
