Kazakhstan hosts event marking 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev

Baku, May 8, AZERTAC

An international conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev, the leader of the people of Azerbaijan, was held in the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The conference was jointly organized by the International Turkic Academy and the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.

Opening the event, President of the International Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev emphasized that Heydar Aliyev is a great personality of Azerbaijan and the Turkic world, a symbol of the independent state of Azerbaijan, a bright leader who created wide opportunities for the future of his country and people. Speaking about the historical achievements of Heydar Aliyev and his role in strengthening the relations of brotherly Turkic countries, the President of the Turkic Academy noted: “Heydar Aliyev made great efforts to unify the Turkic World and bring the Turkic peoples closer together. He made important contributions to the establishment of cooperation organizations serving the integration of Turkic states. It is no coincidence that the idea of founding organizations such as the Organization of Turkic States and the Turkic Academy was formed in the ancient land of Nakhchivan, where Heydar Aliyev was born. This fact in itself has a great symbolic meaning.”

Speaking at the conference, President of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Gunay Afandiyeva stated that this year, the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of Azerbaijan, a great statesman and political figure of the Turkic world, will be celebrated both in Azerbaijan and internationally. Gunay Afandiyeva said that organizing the event dedicated to this great jubilee in Kazakhstan has a symbolic meaning. The President of the Foundation noted that the steps taken with love and foresight by Heydar Aliyev to establish relations with the Turkic world are bearing fruit today. Gunay Afandiyeva drew attention to the fact that Heydar Aliyev's bold policy has given impetus to the revival of friendly and brotherly relations between the Turkic peoples who come from the same root and have a common culture. “Heydar Aliyev, whose heart has always been at with the Turkic people and the Turkic geography, is today considered by the entire Turkic world as one of their own. With the passage of time, the respect and admiration he is regarded with is increasing. And that is why the Great Leader is called a Great Son not only of Azerbaijan, but also of the Turkic world,” underlined the President of the Foundation.

Gunay Afandiyeva called the fact that the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader coincided with the status of Shusha as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World a historical event.

Speaking at the conference, Minister of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Darkhan Kydyrali said that Heydar Aliyev laid the foundation for the development of historical and cultural relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. In his speech, the minister pointed out that during the visit of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Kazakhstan this year, the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev began to be celebrated and many events will be held in Kazakhstan during the year. The minister noted that the production of the documentary film "Dear Life" with the support of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the first of these projects.
