Kuwait’s National Day marked in Baku

An official reception marking the 65th anniversary of National Day and the 35th anniversary of the Liberation of Kuwait was held at the country’s Embassy in Baku.
Addressing the event, Mohammad Faisal Al-Mutairi, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Azerbaijan, hailed the existing high-level bilateral relations across political, economic, cultural, and other domains. He highlighted the close relations between the two countries within international organizations, namely the United Nations (UN), the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The diplomat underscored the importance of the 3rd meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kuwait in April last year, noting that a joint roadmap for 2025-2027 was adopted, and the agreements covering agriculture, sports, culture, and tourism were signed. The ambassador emphasized that Kuwait would be actively involved in the upcoming 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.
Elnur Mammadov, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, noted that the relations between the two countries, rooted in friendship, mutual respect, have been rapidly developing since the establishment of diplomatic ties. He also lauded Kuwait’s support for Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, adding that meetings of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission, political consultations, high-level reciprocal visits, and enhancing tourism relations, significantly contribute to boosting bilateral cooperation.
