Lachin-hosted Women's Forum features panel sessions

As part of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Women's Forum held in Lachin, panel sessions were organized on the topics of "The Role of Women in Human Development for Climate Resilience," "The Role of Women in Urban Development," and "The Role of Women in Sustainable Development."
Speaking at the session titled "The Role of Women in Sustainable Development," Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ilhama Gadimova shared her insights on the application of digital and AI technologies in agriculture, the development of innovative processes in the sector, the formation of sustainable supply chains, and the empowerment of women in these areas.
Highlighting the comprehensive state programs and financial support mechanisms implemented in Azerbaijan to facilitate the transition to sustainable agriculture, Ilhama Gadimova emphasized that Azerbaijan's agricultural policy prioritizes the recognition and inclusion of young people and women, aiming to increase their participation and promote innovation in the sector.
The Deputy Minister also underlined the pivotal role of the Electronic Agricultural Information System (EKTIS), Azerbaijan's national digital infrastructure for agriculture, in transforming the sector. She noted that EKTIS serves as a unified platform for managing and streamlining agricultural processes and services.
Other distinguished speakers addressed topics such as gender equality, the development of women’s entrepreneurship, regional gender indicators, mechanisms for assessing women's environmental performance in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the promotion of a green economy, climate action, environmental education, and specialization in innovative "green" technologies.
The panel sessions concluded with an exchange of views among the participants.
