MEETING IN AZERBAIJAN-CHINA SOCIETY OF FRIENDSHIP AND COOPERATION
Opening the meeting with participation of deputies of Milli Majlis, representatives of the public, mass media, the president of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS), the member of board of Society Mahmud Karimov has dwelt on present condition of political and economic cooperation between two countries, having noted, that the basis of today's relations has been founded during official visit of national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev to China in 1994.
He has emphasized efforts of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, directed on the further strengthening of links, having regarded visit of representative delegation of the People’s Republic of China to Azerbaijan as a bright example of the Azerbaijani-Chinese contacts.
Having expressed gratitude for warm meeting, head of the delegation Lu Yunshan has emphasized prompt development of connections between two countries in all spheres, in particular, continuous expansion of economic cooperation, participation of the Chinese companies in development of hydro-carbonic resources of Azerbaijan.
Having expressed confidence in the further strengthening of economic relations, the visitor has noted that the delegation is very pleased with the meeting with President Ilham Aliyev.
Having emphasized achievement in Azerbaijan of tremendous successes in all fields and highly having estimated the role of the Society in deepening of mutual ties, the visitor has told: “The basis of development of the Chinese-Azerbaijani relations has been founded by national leader Heydar Aliyev, and this policy successfully continues President Ilham Aliyev. So, last two years commodity circulation between our countries has grown. Thanks to Heydar Aliyev’s new oil strategy, the large Chinese companies, including Oil-and-gas Corporation of China, oil company "Shenli", takes active participation in projects of development of oil deposits of Azerbaijan.
The responsible secretary of the Azerbaijan-China Society of Friendship and Cooperation Rafig Abbasov, chairman of the Union of Artists Farhad Khalilov, director of Medical Center "Inam” Etibar Kazimov in their remarks have noted, that the said structure brings powerful contribution to development of multilateral relations between two countries.
Especially having emphasized merits of the founder and the president of the Society, deputy of Milli Majlis, world famous scientist Jalal Aliyev, and also vice-president of the Society, correspondent-member of ANAS Garib Mammadov in achievement of the marked successes, Rafig Abbasov informed that the Society which is carrying out concrete work on development of cooperation in the field of culture, education, information and other spheres, carries out with this purpose numerous actions, including "round tables”.
In Azerbaijan, there is a great interest and in the Chinese language, which is successfully taught at the secondary School 134 and Baku State University. The book devoted to historical visit of the national leader Heydar Aliyev to Peking in 1994 is prepared, and the illustrated Chinese-Azerbaijan dictionary is issued. The Internet-site of Society in the Azerbaijan language is open.
At the meeting, also was present the ambassador of China to Azerbaijan Chzhan Siun.
