A commemorative event marking the 118th anniversary of prominent writer, literary scholar, and educator Mir Jalal Pashayev was held at the Azerbaijan House in Stuttgart, Germany.
The event was attended by teachers and students of the Azerbaijani weekend school, diaspora activists, family members of First Garabagh War martyr Shahin Najafov, as well as representatives of the local community. Gunay Mirzayeva, head of the Azerbaijan House in Stuttgart, member of the Board of the Alliance of Azerbaijanis in Germany, and composer, spoke about the writer’s rich life and multifaceted творчество. Emphasizing Mir Jalal Pashayev’s exceptional contributions to the development of Azerbaijani literature and scholarly thought, she noted that his works vividly reflect the national and moral values and historical heritage of the Azerbaijani people. Mirzayeva also shared memories of her grandmother, journalist Svetlana Mirzayeva, a recipient of the “Shohrat” Order, about her teacher Mir Jalal Pashayev. She underlined that the wise educator, who trained a large number of students, considered preserving the purity of the native language and mastering it perfectly a moral duty for every Azerbaijani, while instilling a strong sense of civic responsibility in his students. His literary and academic legacy serves as a moral guide for the younger generation.
The event concluded with participants continuing their discussions around a table featuring samples of Azerbaijani national cuisine.
