Minnesota State’s Legislative Body signs proclamation on Azerbaijan’s national holiday-Republic Day

House of Representatives of US Minnesota State has adopted a proclamation on 97th anniversary of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.

The proclamation says that the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic established in 1918 was the first democratic republic in the Muslim East. It also notes that the republic has granted Azerbaijani women the right of voting earlier than the US - in 1919.

The document says that the Republic of Azerbaijan restored its independence in 1991 and since the years of independence the country has become an important partner of the US in the region of global security and stability.
