NATIONAL HOLIDAY OF BULGARIA MARKED IN BAKU
Bulgarian Embassy in Azerbaijan on March 3 organized an official reception on the occasion of the country’s national holiday at the Baku Entertainment Center.
Bulgarian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ivan Palchev spoke at the event about the path to development of his country, which is the full-fledged member of the European Union.
Speaking about the history of economic and cultural relations between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan, the Ambassador emphasized that the two countries’ comprehensive cooperation was developing constantly.
“Azerbaijan and Bulgaria are successfully cooperating within international organizations and Bulgaria supports Azerbaijan’s integration into Euro-Atlantic Structures”, the Ambassador said.
Addressing the event, Ziyafat Asgarov, first vice-speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan congratulated Bulgarian people on the occasion of the country’s national holiday on behalf of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Ziyafat Asgarov noted that documents signed between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria had opened new opportunities for cooperation in the spheres of economy and culture.
“After Azerbaijan gained independence, its relations with Bulgaria expanded and reached the level of strategic partnership and friendship. Mutual visits of the two countries’ presidents, as well as inter-parliamentary ties gave an extra impetus to this process”, said Ziyafat Asgarov.
Novruz Mammadov, head of President’s Office International Relations Department, Abid Sharifov, Deputy Prime Minister, MPs, representatives of international organizations and foreign ambassadors in Baku and other officials attended the event.
