NATIONAL HOLIDAY OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA MARKED
Speaking at the reception, the ambassador of China in Azerbaijan Chzhan Siun has noted, that within the last 55 years, the Chinese Republic has passed great way of progress, has made economic and social development and has turned to a powerful state. The reforms carried out in the last 25 years have given to this development a special pulse. The ambassador has emphasized, that the diplomatic relations established between China and Azerbaijan have opened new page in connections of two countries. The base of these links has been founded after official visit of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev to China in 1994.
The meetings carried during this visit and negotiations, the signed documents have defined priority principles of cooperation of two countries. In development of mutual relations, an important role has played the visit of Li Pen, the chairman of the Standing Committee of All-Chinese Assembly of National Representatives to Azerbaijan. The Chinese-Azerbaijan relations are constructed on mutual respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity. The diplomat has stated that our countries support each other on international arena, and has emphasized, that China recognizes territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and supports peaceful settlement of the Nagorny Karabakh conflict.
The ambassador has dwelt also on the vigorous activity of the Chinese companies in oil sector of Azerbaijan, cooperation in the field of culture, education and other spheres.
First vice-chairman of Milli Majlis Arif Rahimzadeh, in his statement spoke about history of the Azerbaijan–Chinese connections, similarity of cultures of our peoples, has emphasized, that after regaining by Azerbaijan independence, the relations between our countries develop more intensively.
At the formal reception, presenting were representatives of the state and government, deputies of Milli Majlis, ambassadors of foreign countries in Baku, representatives of the community of the capital.
