National leader Heydar Aliyev commemorated in Astrakhan
Baku, December 12 (AZERTAC). A series of events to commemorate national leader Heydar Aliyev`s memory has today been held in Russian Federation`s Astrakhan city.
The event has brought together Governors of Astrakhan city and Oblast, Minister of international and foreign economic relations of Astrakhan Denis Afanasiev, Deputy Mayor of Astrakhan, as well as businessmen, representatives of the Diaspora organizations, and Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia and students.
The speakers stressed the importance of the internal and foreign policy defined by national leader Heydar Aliyev. They also highlighted the role of the national leader on development of science, education and culture in the country, as well as Azerbaijan`s decent place in the international arena.
The participants also noted that President Ilham Aliyev attached great importance to the cooperation with Russia, as well as Astrakhan. They also added that the large-scale projects at the initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Azerbaijan`s Government, the close friendship and fraternal relations between Astrakhan and the country`s Narimanov region was the result of this care.
The participants have also laid a wreath and flowers to the monument of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
