NATO PA CHIEF ARRIVING IN BAKU
President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Jose Lello is starting a visit to Azerbaijan today.
He will meet with Chairman of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) Ogtay Asadov and first vice speaker, head of the Azerbaijani delegation to NATO PA Ziyafat Asgarov, as well as members of Milli Majlis standing commission on international and interparliamentary relations and representatives of political parties in the Parliament.
Lello will pay respect to nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev at the Alley of Honors and visit the Alley of Martyrs.
From March 6 to 8, he will attend NATO PA`s 68th Rose-Roth seminar in the capital, Baku, which will discuss security in the Caspian and Central Asian regions, energy security, military and political situation, relations between the West and Central Asia, development of democracy and human rights.
The seminar will bring together representatives of international organizations and delegations from more than 25 NATO Partner countries.
In an interview with journalists, Ziyafat Asgarov said Western countries now have huge interest in Azerbaijan.
He said providing security for transportation of Azerbaijan`s oil and gas to world markets is today the highest priority, and “that is why, the NATO PA decided to hold the seminar in Baku”.
