NATO PA PRESIDENT MEETS AZERBAIJAN`S PARLIAMENTARY COMMISSION MEMBERS
President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Jose Lello met with members of the Milli Majlis Standing Commission on International Relations and Interparliamentary Ties. Chairman of the Commission Samad Seyidov provided information about Milli Majlis`s activity and international ties. He said Milli Majlis plays important role in developing democracy in the country, enacting laws meeting European standards.
Seyidov noted that MM attaches high priority to relationships with NATO. According to him, Jose Lello`s current visit will contribute to further expansion of ties.
Members of the commission shared their views on prospects for Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation, NATO` s role in resolution of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.
Jose Lello said rapid development of Azerbaijan, successful results of military, human rights and democratic reforms are praiseworthy. NATO PA is keen on development relations with Azerbaijan and favors peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict based on the territorial integrity of states.
