OFFICE OF “SODRUZHESTVO” SOCIETY OPENED
Ambassador of the Russian Federation Nikolay Ryabov, ambassador of Ukraine Boris Aleksenko, head of Baku and All-Caspian Eparchy, bishop of Orthodox Church father Alexander, chairman of "Sodruzhestvo” Tatyana Karimova and others spoke at the opening. They noted that in amicable family of peoples living in Azerbaijan, all are guaranteed equal rights and conditions. They expressed gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the continuer of external and internal policy of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. It was marked that the “Sodruzhestvo" Society was founded during the period when civil war could inflame, when representatives of all peoples who did everything that people lived in conditions of peace and mutual understanding.
Chairman of the Ukrainian community A. Parkhomenko expressed gratitude to head executive of Garadag district of Baku and other sponsors who have helped to restore the office.
The embassy of Ukraine has presented in gift to office two computers, embassy of Russia – a piano and musical center. Father Alexander prayed to Almighty and presented to the new office an icon of Mother of God as a symbol of statehood of the country – National Emblem of Azerbaijan.
At opening of the new office of the Ukrainian community in Azerbaijan, also were representatives of national communities of the Republic, Cossacks, and mass media.
