A series of seminars traditionally conducted at the State Committee on Working With Religious Structures this time ware opened with the theme “State and Religion: Searching for Ways for Social Peace and Consent in the Society”.

Chairman of the Committee Rafik Aliyev stressed in his reports that the most important attributes of the ideological conception are Azerbaijanism, unitary secular state and religious spiritual and moral values, which all strata of the public have concern in. He noted that harmonic development and constructive interrelation between these factors could provide social peace and mutual understanding in the society.

Mr. Aliyev also mentioned that every citizen of Azerbaijan irrespective of his religious or ethnic belonging must show in practice his devotion to the idea of Azerbaijanism, all the principles of the secular state, preserve the system of Islamic spiritual and moral values and historical traditions. Development, and flourishing of the country depend on the unity of these factors supplementing each other, he said.

The Committee Chairman also answered questions from the seminar participants.
