PERMANENT REPRESENTATION TO COE MARKS REPUBLIC DAY IN STRASBOURG
The Azerbaijan Permanent Representation to the Council of Europe in collaboration with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism have organized a series of events to mark Azerbaijan’s Republic Day in Strasbourg, France.
The celebrations included performances of the Azerbaijan State Youth Symphony Orchestra, Children’s Chorus, students of the Baku Choreographic School and mugham singers at the Strasbourg Cathedrals, one of the European grand churches, and the Palais de la Musique et des Congres, as well as an exhibition of young Azeri painters at the Council of Europe’s Cabinet of Ministers.
Present at the events were Chairman of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijan Parliament) Mr. Ogtay Asadov, PACE President Mr. Luis Maria de Puig, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe Mr. Maud de Boer-Buquicchio, Director General of Education, Culture and Heritage, Youth and Sport and Coordinator for Intercultural Dialogue of the Council of Europe Ms. Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, Venice Commission Secretary Mr. Gianni Buquicchio, Head of Azerbaijan Representation to COE Mr. Arif Mammadov and other high ranking officials of the organization, as well as representatives of the Azerbaijani community and youth studying in Strasbourg.
