PRESIDENT OF AZERBAIJAN ILHAM ALIYEV RECEIVES PROSECUTOR GENERAL OF AUSTRIA
Greeting warmly the guest, head of Azerbaijan State stressed the intensively developing relations between Azerbaijan and Austria, underlining that these relations are expanding in many levels and numerous fields.
The cooperation between our countries are successfully go both on the base of bilateral links and in the frame of international organizations, including the European Union, the Council of Europe and others, President of Azerbaijan emphasized.
Noting that integration of Azerbaijan to the European structures is one of the priorities of the republic’s foreign policy, president Aliyev said that Azerbaijan takes active part in the new neighboring policy program of the European Union.
Stating that expansion of relations between numerous public structures, including the prosecutor bodies has positive impact on development of bilateral relations, the head of the Azerbaijan State recalled that he with great pleasure had received minister of justice of Austria in Baku, underlining that strengthening of ties between the judicial and law-enforcement bodies is of great significance in the international arena.
President Ilham Aliyev said that if to take into account that the world faces new threats, especially, the dangers like international terrorism, our cooperation should be considered very important. Azerbaijan itself is victim of terrorism, therefore, is interested in increasing efforts to combat against terrorism.
Head of Azerbaijan State wished the visit of Mr. Walter Presslawer to Baku were successful.
Noting that he is pleased and honored with the meeting with President Ilham Aliyev Mr. Walter Presslawer informed on the meetings he had in Azerbaijan. Being in Baku on the eve of celebration of the 10th anniversary of the “Contract of the Century”, he congratulated the Head of Azerbaijan State and the people of Azerbaijan on this end.
Stating that the historical ways the two countries have passed, are similar, the guest said that his people, too, had faced the problem of refugees.
“Successful combat against international terrorism is possible with joint efforts“, the guest underlined. “And cooperation of the prosecutor bodies in this cause plays important role”.
Mr. Walter Presslawer expressed confidence that cooperation between the prosecutor bodies of the two countries would certainly expand.
Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Republic Zahid Garalov attended the reception.
