PRESIDENT OF AZERBAIJAN RECEIVES RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR
The Head of State expressed deep sympathy on the monstrously cruel terror act led to death of a lot of children and adults in Beslan, and advised that he had sent - on behalf of himself and the people of Azerbaijan - condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of these tragic event.
The President noted that the two counties both suffered from terror should cooperate closer in fight against this global evil. In these hard moments, Azerbaijan is alongside Russia, I have charged the government with getting in touch with relevant structures of Russia including North Osetia to learn the situation and render every possible aid, President Ilham Aliyev said.
He also expressed readiness to create necessary conditions for rehabilitation of the people suffered from the Beslan tragedy.
The Head of State, then highly valued the activity of Ambassador Nikolay Ryabov in Azerbaijan noting that during Mr. Ryabov’s tenure, the Azerbaijan-Russia relations had been strengthened and expanded in all spheres. He also added that it was personal friendship between Mr. Heydar Aliyev and Mr. Vladimir Putin that insured the present high level of the bilateral ties.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed hope that the Azerbaijan-Russia relations will be further developed and strengthened on the base of the two leaders’ political will.
Russian Ambassador Ryabov thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the warm meeting and highly valued and appreciated the Azerbaijani leader’s statement resolutely condemning the inhuman terrorist attack committed in Beslan.
He further said it was a great honor for him to work in Baku under President Heydar Aliyev and described the national leader as a father of the Azerbaijani people. The Ambassador added with satisfaction that incumbent President Ilham Aliyev successfully continuing the Heydar Aliyev’s policy has won great international prestige as a political figure.
In conclusion, Mr. Ryabov expressed his deep gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for the favorable conditions created for his activity in Azerbaijan, and confidence that the relations between Russia and Azerbaijan would be further developed and deepened.
