On August 27, at the sitting of the Ambassadors of France abroad, President Jacques Chirac told on foreign policy of the country, expressed attitude to the European Constitution, situation in the Near East, restoration of Iraq and other issues.

Touching on the events in Iraq, President of France noted that he would meet early September with President of Iraq and discuss restoration questions, the upcoming 2005 elections and other important issues.

Regarding Turkey’s joining to the European Union Mr. Chirac expressed hope for positive way out of the coming talks in December 2004.

Mr. Chirac stated position of France on solution of Israeli-Palestinian relations, events taken place in Africa, combat on international terrorism, other issues, as well as success of French diplomacy.
