PRESIDENT OF HEYDAR ALIYEV FOUNDATION MEETS UNESCO DIRECTOR GENERAL
President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador Ms. Mehriban Aliyeva today has met in Gulustan Palace with UNESCO Director General Mr. Koïchiro Matsuura, who arrived in Baku to attend the organization’s Regional Literacy Conference.
Ms. Aliyeva thanked Mr. Matsuura for visiting Baku and expressed her confidence that the conference would give positive results.
UNESCO Director General underlined the significance of the conference for Azerbaijan and the country’s successful policy in education area.
Mr. Matsuura presented UNESCO’s memorable silver medal to Ms. Aliyeva.
The sides also exchanged views on cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNESCO in various areas.
