REGIONAL TRAINING TO FIGHT DRUGS TO BE CONDUCTED IN MASALLI
The Arab Gulf Fund /AGFUND/ has allocated $65 thousand to UNDP to strengthen combat against the illegal drugs turnover in Azerbaijan. In accordance with the agreement sealed between the State Commission to fight drug addiction and illegal drugs turnover and UNDP, the funds are designed for consolidating the southern borders of Azerbaijan, SCAD /Southern Caucasus Anti-Drug Program/ said
Due to the joint efforts of the UNDP and relevant state bodies, Interior Ministry, State Customs Committee and State Frontier Service received necessary technical equipment in October last year.
The courses for officials of local state bodies in southern region will be conducted April 14-16 in Masalli province. The purpose is to upgrade the anti-drugs reconnaissance system and to promote information exchange between these bodies.
The EU expert Paul Cook, expert group members, SCAD national coordinator and UNDP representatives will attend the events.
