Representatives of Azerbaijan University of Languages attend Confucius Institute Conference

Head of the Confucius Institute at Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) Li Jihua and head of the university's Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Regional Studies and International Relations Salman Nuriyev have attended the 11th Confucius Institute Conference held in Kunming, China.
The Conference brought together nearly 2,400 representatives from over 500 Confucius Institutes from 140 countries.
In his remarks, Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Liu Yandong highlighted the priority areas of development of the insitutions.
The Azerbaijani delegation then met with Zhang Litsin, rector of the University of Huzhou, which is the partner of AUL. Zhang Litsin hailed the activities of the Confucius Institute at AUL. In his remarks, Director of the Confucius Institute in Azerbaijan Rafig Abbasov noted that one of the main priorities of the university's Confucius Institute is to conduct scientific research on Azerbaijan's involvement in the implementation of 'Belt and Road' Initiative which aims to create China's Trans-Eurasian economic and transportation corridors.
