RUSSIA`S EMBASSY IN BAKU GIVES OFFICIAL RECEPTION
Russia`s Embassy in Azerbaijan held Wednesday an official reception to mark the country`s public holiday-Russian day.
Vasily Istratov, Russia`s ambassador to Azerbaijan said his country attaches great importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan. He stressed relations between the two countries had reached the level of strategic partnership. According to him, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev’s visit to Azerbaijan scheduled for July 3-4 will give a new impetus to enhancing relations between the two countries.
Azerbaijan`s Milli Majlis Speaker Ogtay Asadov on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev congratulated the Russian people on the holiday. He described the Azerbaijan-Russian relations as deeply rooted. The Speaker stressed that mutual visits by both countries` leaders contribute to developing friendly relations between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Russia even more.
Present at the event were Ali Hasanov, Head of the Socio-Political Department of President’s Office, Novruz Mammadov, Head of the International Relations Department of the President’s Office, MPs, ministers, foreign ambassadors accredited in Azerbaijan and other officials.
