Second steering meeting of the Twinning project held
Baku, April 24 (AZERTAC). The second steering meeting of the Twining Project initiated by State Committee for Land and Cartography of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the European Commission “Support to the State Committee for Land and Cartography of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the field of establishment of the modern registration system of the state land cadastre information through improvement of rules of land evaluation and economic assessment of land in accordance to the EU evaluation standards" was held today.
The 3-component project financed by the European Union is to be completed during 18 months.
The project aims to improve land legislature, state land cadastre information through improvement of rules of land evaluation and economic assessment of land in accordance with the modern evaluation standards.
A report was made on the works done so far in the frame of project, successful realization of which was praised. The participants also hailed the efforts and contribution of Swedish and Latvian specialists to the project.
Head of the project from the Swedish side Stefan Svensson made a presentation.
Experts developed a report on rules of land evaluation and economic assessment of land and submitted it to the officials of State Committee for Land and Cartography.
The meeting also saw proposals on working out a new Twining project.
Twinning, TAIEX and Sigma instruments have proven their success in the recent EU enlargement process and are extended to Azerbaijan within the framework of the European Neighborhood Policy.
Twinning is an institution-to-institution partnership between a Member State administration and the Azerbaijani counterpart administration for an average duration of 24 months.
In the context of Azerbaijan, Twinning is of crucial strategic importance for the country, as it will help the Government to implement the Partnership Cooperation Agreement (PCA) and ENP Action Plan, assisting the country to develop modern and efficient administrations for the implementation of the pieces of the EU legislation and best policies.
