SOLEMN CLOSING CEREMONY OF “ MOZALAN: BIZ VE ZAMAN” HELD
Eighty seven short movies under this title were demonstrated in the movie theater “Araz” between January 23 and 27; 20 more films were shown on the festival’s closing day, January 30. 178 newsreels including two documentary and one feature film have been shot in 32 years. The first 100 of them shot in 70s were included in the program of the festival. Founders of newsreel are the eminent directors and actors, names of whom were entered with gold letters into the people’s film epopee: Huseyn Seidzade, Tofig Tagizade, Arif Babayev, Oktay Mirgasimov, Jamil Farajev, Jeyhun Mirzoyev.
Prizes and prize moneys have been awarded on 4 nominations “Best feature film”, “Best actor”, “The Most Unbiased Spectator” and “ The Most Unbiased Journalist”. Unfortunately, director Teymur Bakirzade passed away, and the prize for his film “Arzu” was presented to his son, the young sound producer Bakir Bakirzade. Instead of the late Fazil Salayev, the prize “Best actor” was given to his wife Farida khanum. Jeyhun Mammadov became the most unbiased spectator, and TV journalist of STV-channel Ramil Alakbarov - the most unbiased journalist.
