Dear Slava!
Dear Mr. Ambassador!
Today is very remarkable day - on the initiative of our friend Slava Rostropovich, a new stage of vaccination begins in Azerbaijan. As you know, Slava is our compatriot. A big friend of Azerbaijan. He was close friend of our people’s national leader Heydar Aliyev and has always been devoted to this friendship.
We remember, when our national leader passes away, Slava arrived in Baku and gave a concert in his memory. We highly value and appreciate that. That was really an acme of friendship.
At the same time, Slava in engaged in various charitable actions in Azerbaijan. Large-scale programs are implemented by his Fund in Azerbaijan, and the vaccination program is one of the most important among others.
Slava as always has kept his promises and is now in Baku. He promised to come to Baku every year to give concerts and master classes for young musicians. I am very happy that this tradition continues, Slava’s serving Azerbaijan continues.
It has been noted here that two years ago the similar event was attended by national leader of out people Heydar Aliyev. Today, we are witnesses of vaccination of two children. This program is quite extensive, and will cover hundreds of thousands of children in the future. This means that the future generation of Azerbaijan will be growing up healthy.
As you know, today, the infectious diseases are a source of great danger around the world including Azerbaijan. A huge work has already been done in the country with this respect, and I am very happy that Azerbaijan is now saved from many dangerous diseases.
This great job initiated by Slava creates good condition for our children to grow up even healthier, and for the new healthy generation to serves its nation.
I congratulate all of you on this occasion, and express to our friend Slava my deep gratitude.
