SPEECH OF PRESIDENT OF AZERBAIJAN ILHAM ALIYEV

Dear students and tutors of MSIIR,

Dear friends!

I congratulate all of you on this nice anniversary. I have with the great pleasure accepted the invitation together to congratulate you here. Today, I have arrived in Moscow, and today we are together. Years of study in Institute, probably, for everyone are one of the best. These are years of youth, years of becoming. In our case, I think also it is important that in our Institute there was always atmosphere of friendship, mutual aid and understanding. The relations between teachers and students were constructed on confidential basis. There was very high demand, and all of us felt this demand, especially in the first years of studies. Alongside with it, there was a kind attitude, a sensitive attitude. There was a desire of our teachers to give us not only the knowledge, but also the experience in practical work of the diplomat. To study as a diplomat is enough difficult. It is the profession you should experience in all-subsequent life, in the career. But certainly, our teachers have done much. Therefore I, using this opportunity, first of all, would like to express profound gratitude to all who taught me in our Institute, to thank them that they have given me knowledge, which today is very much useful to me. In our Institute, guys from the different countries, and including from all the Union studied. Today, the graduates of MSIIR are working in Azerbaijan on many responsible posts. I am a living example to this.

In February current year, I have with great pleasure visited our Institute, have met the old friends, have told that such meetings mean still more many. I, using this opportunity, once again want to confirm the invitation to visit Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan for Russia is a friendly country. The relations between our countries successfully develop and have reached on qualitatively new level. Today, they are the relations between partners, friends, the countries that actively cooperate on bilateral basis, whose views in many respects coincide both in the questions of regional and world politics. I am very much satisfied with how these relations develop. They develop for the blessing of two countries, for the blessing of our peoples. I, on my part, shall make further efforts that Russia and Azerbaijan, as before, always remained as friends, always actively cooperated on international arena. Also today it is very pleasant for me to tell that in the numerous carried out meetings on various international actions I frequently heard very positive, enthusiastic responses about the today's life of the Institute. MSIIR today is a world center of education and scientific researches, and it is twice pleasant for me. It is twice pleasant as to the person who more than 10 years has been connected to this Institute. I want to wish the Institute and further highly to maintain this reputation. And further to remain it is internationally recognized center where representatives of the various countries where amicable family - students from the different states which never lose among themselves these links. It is so personally in my life, and in the life of many of my friends - fellow students. Sometimes, in completely casual place you meet the fellow students, the friend and you are glad to this. Where our graduates worked, they achieve success - in diplomatic career, politics, and business. I wish all students of MSIIR, the Institute new achievements, new accomplishments and that we - its graduates, in joyful days and holidays were always together.

Afterwards, congratulations were extended by MSIIR alumni, the diplomats now working in different countries as Ambassadors of the Russian Federation. After the ceremony, a concert of the popular Russian artists was held.
