Special commission created by Ministry of Healthcare worked out a project of the “State program of Azerbaijan Republic on pancreatic diabetes (2005-2009s) and submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers.

Head of scientific endocrinologists society of Azerbaijan Republic Valeh Mirzazadeh told AzerTAj correspondent that for today, pancreatic diabetes is an epidemic all over the world. According to the official data, 54500 in Azerbaijan and over 194 million in the world subjected to this disease.

In many cases, they are faced with such severe consequences of this disease as blindness, cardiac infarction and renal failure. Taking into the account, Ministry of Healthcare elaborated special State program meeting the standards of International Diabetes Federation and World Health Organization.

The program envisages teaching patients with principles of self-control, free supply of insulin and pills.
