STATEMENT OF CHAIRMAN OF THE FRENCH SENATE CHRISTIAN PONCELET
Dear colleagues!
I welcome all of you and I want to tell, that these days we receive our friends. All present here are our sincere friends.
Dear President, dear Mehriban Khanum, as to Chairman of the Senate of the French Republic, it is very pleasant to see again these days you here, I think it is great honor for myself. It is already the second meeting confirming, that the relations between Azerbaijan and France are at very high level. You also take part in opening of this exhibition. And at the same time it means development of relations between our parliaments. As you know, chairman of Group of Friendship Ambruaz Dupont tries to make more efforts for development of connections between the parliaments.
The French Senate uses the best efforts to achieve development of ties between parliaments of the countries of Southern Caucasus. Chairmen of these parliaments repeatedly met. Once they met in Versailles, there were also subsequent meetings. They have taken place on the initiative of the French Senate.
The French Senate has played a major role in opening and development of the Center of the French Culture functioning in Baku. The French Senate also makes all efforts for popularization of the Azerbaijan artists. Today, I am very glad, that products of the Azerbaijan artists decorate this hall. Much for the organization of this exhibition was made by our former ambassador in Azerbaijan by madam Chantal Poiret and recently appointed ambassador Mr. Roland Blatman. Carrying out this action, the French Senate wants to confirm once again, that pays special attention to the Azerbaijan culture, art. Everyone, who will visit the exhibition these days and will see products, each representative of the French public can be convinced of high professionalism and more potential of the Azerbaijan artists.
Next to me, there is the ambassador of Azerbaijan. She also worked in close interrelation with our Azerbaijan partners in the organization of this exhibition.
The purpose consists in that everyone who will visit the exhibition and will see these products has appreciated them. We are sure, that these products will interest many collectors, that it is an opportunity for the further popularization of Azerbaijan abroad.
Dear Mr. President, Azerbaijan under your management has achieved impressive successes. Today, we see in Azerbaijan speedy development, its economy develops. We know, that essential development has been achieved in the petroleum industry of Azerbaijan. At the same time, Mr. President, we want to note, that such outstanding statesman as you, pays special attention and to sphere of culture, art. It will bring in the contribution to development of the Azerbaijan culture. From the bottom of the heart, I want to express you for it, Mr. President, intimate gratitude.
