STATEMENT OF PRESIDENT OF BULGARIA GEORGI PARVANOV
- Dear ladies and gentlemen,
I think that visit of our delegation to Azerbaijan begins successfully. This visit is in the best way filled with numerous agreements which signing has taken place at our presence. I have reason to draw a conclusion after our negotiations that the current visit will give impulse to development of our mutual relations in political sphere. It is necessary to recognize that till now this dialogue was carried out irregularly. Second, I expect, and there is confirmation to this, activation of our economic links. Our experts have discussed the question on state of commodity circulation between our countries. It is impossible to deny that a real state of commodity circulation is unsatisfactory. Speaking about concrete forms and techniques of increase in our commodity circulation, we, first of all, should consider legal base and if it is necessary amend it. It is impossible to overlook questions of transport, and it is necessary to improve structure of commodity circulation.
There is opportunity of fine interaction within the framework of the international organizations, which members are both our countries, from the United Nations Organization where frequently we act from identical positions up to the European structures, which our countries concern.
We also should cooperate actively within the framework of the regional organizations.
I thank President Ilham Aliyev for a high estimation which he has given to presidency of our country in OSCE. I have assured him that Bulgaria and henceforth will hold active position in this direction. Really, Bulgaria tries to be distinguished from all previous countries - chairmen in this organization, especially concerning this concrete problem. This activity was expressed not only in interaction of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, but also in establishment of missions and in other questions. I think that we adhere to a similar position in the question of combat against the international terrorism. Moreover, the fact that Bulgaria and Azerbaijan are present at concrete points - Iraq, Afghanistan, - and for the reason that these conflicts occur not on the religious and ethnic basis, somehow pulls together our countries.
