SWEDEN CALLS ON EU TO STRENGTHEN CO-OP WITH EASTERN EUROPEAN COUNTRIES
Sweden calls on the European Union to strengthen cooperation with the Eastern European countries for acceleration of the processes of reform, Embassy of Azerbaijan to this country told AZERTAC Agency. It is, in particular, planned to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia and Armenia in this field.
Mr. Carl Bildt, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, said this cooperation would create conditions for membership of the mentioned countries in the European Union. As he stated, the Eastern European countries, in this way, will achieve more economic stability, political and constitutional development.
The European Commission has already received plan of action in this direction. These proposals, being joint initiative of Sweden and Poland, will be discussed at the meeting of the foreign ministers due in Brussels on 26 May.
